The Heroes of Telemark

In 1942 a small group of British trained Norwegian Commandoes parachuted into occupied Norway tasked with setting up an operation to destroy the heavy water manufacturing factory in Rjuken.  After 4 months of living rough on the inhospitable Hardangevide conducting reconnaissance tasks and collecting vital intelliegence, they were joined by other Norwegian commandoes and, on the night of 28 February 1943, they carried out a daring and audacious raid on the factory.  But that is just the start of the story…

This small group embodied the commando ethos and were successful against the odds because of their belief in their mission, high mental and physical resilience and the willingness to adapt to an ever evolving situation.

The Heroes of Telemark leadership package is designed to help leadership groups learn about themselves and each other while developing leadership skills in an environment wildly different from their own.  The 5 day package in Rjuken at the edge of the beautiful yet wild Hardanger plateau in central Norway draws its inspiration from from the courage of the Telemark Heroes.

Marok Associates has put together an extremely high calibre team of Arctic and leadership experts to run this programme that will build leadership teams into world-beaters for whom the impossible is nothing.

There has never been a better time for this type of experiential training than in today’s tough economic climate.  Contact us for more information and to book your place for one of two remaining slots in 2012…
